Texture Matters

One of two elements most women over look when putting an outfit together is texture. Color and pattern seem to matter most to many, but getting the right  weight of an ensemble is essential as well. This vest  ( hoardcouture.com/collections/warm-weather-selections/products/floral-tweed-trimmed-vest ) is light tweed with a floral print. All other parts are from my own closet. The skirt and booties share a linear pattern, one in knit and one in suede. The fringe balances the scale of the pattern on the vest as does the necklace which is delicate like the flowers. Anything bigger at the neckline and one would miss seeing the pockets. To make a summer look, reduce the textures to a t-shirt and a long gauzy skirt with sandals.
