Painting on clothing is no different than a painting on canvas...well except for the many more steps involved and the inherent difficulties of the surface and the consistency of the materials. Pricing then becomes a factor....should an artist whose paintings sell for several hundred dollars each, be expected to accept less for work done on a wearable surface? The time involved is greater than a canvas, albeit the details are somewhat less because of the surface and materials. The detail work could increase, but then the fabric becomes embedded with the paint, ends up being stiff and uncomfortable, could flake off and deteriorate if not fabric paint specified quality, and then hence unwearable. Yes, our pieces are not "cheap" but they are one of a kind, original, walking works of art by a professional artist. NO craft fair quality subjects or imagery...it is art + fashion = fun!
