Time flies!!

Oh my bad....just now realized how long it has been size I had time to post anew blog. Soooo much happening that taking the time to write has been on the bottom of the to-do list. We have so much "stuff" in our material and consumer oriented society that it only makes sense to take what exists and give it new life.  This ball gown skirt is made from 3 dozen striped neckties that have been opened, ironed and hand stitched to a muslin base. Yes it is a bit heavy but the spin and twirl factor is incredible. The waistband is adjustable, it has a zipper in the back and pockets set into the side seams for comfort. Why Ties?

Our creative obsession with neckties will continue for awhile. Why? Because they are such beautiful fabrics especially when opened up. The surface area to work with doubles when the back seam is opened and the fabric ironed. Inside is a "skeleton" of various materials which could be felt, cotton or linen depending upon the quality of the tie itself.
